“WIR SIND” is a planned mobile app that actively involves citizens in urban planning, starting with Tempelhofer Feld in Berlin. The goal is to create a democratic platform where people can anonymously vote on existing planning proposals and share their own priorities—such as environmental protection, inclusivity, or cultural relevance.
By working together with government authorities, the app aims to close the gap between formal planning processes and the actual will of the public. It uses an algorithm to filter proposals based on individual user preferences. The five most popular projects are then forwarded to the city administration. In the long term, “WIR SIND” seeks to make urban planning more transparent and citizen-focused—beyond just Berlin.
